A hotel is defined as “a place that provides paid accommodation for a short period of time.” (See 1.)
In the early days of the hotel, accommodation was very basic, usually a room with a bed, cupboard, small table and washstand. Today, most rooms are equipped with modern facilities. In addition to the bathroom, it also provides air conditioning, telephone, TV, Wi-Fi (Internet connection) and a minibar with snacks and drinks.
Over the years, hotel accommodations have changed dramatically. There are several types of hotels that can satisfy almost everyone’s tastes and needs, and most importantly, they are affordable. The two main types of hotels are luxury hotels and budget hotels. Although the basic facilities are similar, the two types of hotels are very different:
As the name suggests, these hotels are set up for people who have a limited budget but want to spend as little as possible. The rooms of these hotels usually have basic facilities, such as beds and washing machines, and most of them also have public toilets. Most budget hotels are relatively old. They are clean, but not as luxurious as luxury hotels. Some of these budget hotels are equipped with outdated devices. They do not provide anything for free except for free breakfast or newspapers. Sometimes they are included in the room rate.
Budget hotel prices vary depending on location. In Los Angeles alone, the daily charges for budget hotels range from $45 to $119.
Luxury hotels are suitable for those who are used to luxury lifestyles. The staff of these hotels are specially trained to meet all the needs of guests. They aim to provide guests with all the luxury they want during their stay. These hotels are built in such a way that their stays are absolutely stress-free. In addition to the basic facilities of luxury rooms, these hotels are usually equipped with a spa that provides massage services, a gym equipped with the latest sports equipment, a beauty center that provides a variety of beauty services, a swimming pool, an indoor bar and restaurant, and laundry services.
Of course, compared to budget hotels, the prices of these services are much higher. Other services you can enjoy in luxury hotels include free room service, free newspapers, and even better channel selection on TV. You can even wear nightgowns and slippers when staying in these hotels.
Like budget hotels, prices for luxury hotels vary by location. Luxury hotels in London charge between £240 and £525 per day.
The phrase “you get what you paid for” makes sense. Therefore, for those who have the money to spend money on expensive hotel accommodation, if they want to get the best service that money can buy, then staying in a luxury hotel will be the best. But for those who have a limited budget but need to stay outside, it is best to choose an economy hotel.
